When I try to get help from inside Igor (version 5.05A on an WinXP machine) I get the following error message:
Help File Needs To Be Compiled (expected)
after I click yes I get:
A topic declaration is expected at the start of the file and immediately after a Related Topics declaration.
In the compiling Help File dialog I see:
Compiling "SOCKIT Help.ihf"
Topic: _____________
Topic Number: _____________
Is the help file compatible from Igor 5 to Igor 6?
I'd like to try this XOP out but I'm not sure how to use the calls without the help file.
Thanks.
Updates
I'm not sure why this happens. I saw it happen only today (a colleague also has 5 installed). In the meantime you can try this...
All IGOR helpfile are also notebooks, can you open the helpfile as a notebook? This will give you access to the text. Let me know how it goes.
There is probably something wrong with the formatting of the help file such as a blank line governed by the topic ruler.
