Broken Chinese fonts in Igor Pro Notebook

I cannot type Chinese characters in Igor Pro Notebook (but I can in other apps) in my Mac OS 10.10.5. However, my colleague can type Chinese in Notebook using the Windows version of Igor Pro. Is it possible for me to be able to read my colleague's Chinese notes on my Mac?
I need to know what version of Igor you are using and what version your colleague is using.

Also it would help if you attached a sample notebook that works on Windows.

Also it would help if you specify precisely what you mean by "I cannot type Chinese characters in Igor Pro Notebook".

And I need to know what font you are attempting to use.
