Using Subversion clients (with tutorials)
There are several different front end utilities that provide graphical user interfaces for the Subversion system. However, many of these front end clients do not support all of the features of Subversion. In addition, it is often easier to understand what is happening when using the Subversion command line client. It's also easier to report problems because you can copy and paste your command and any error messages.
For these reasons, IgorExchange supports the Subversion command line interface. For Windows users, there is not a quick and easy way to use the command line interface. Therefore, we also provide support for TortoiseSVN, a graphical front end client that runs only on Windows.
Macintosh users who wish to use a graphical front end client may find one of the unsupported clients listed below to be helpful. However, we recommend that you become familiar with Subversion by using the command line interface before using a graphical front end. Once you are comfortable with the commands used to communicate with the IgorExchange repository, figuring out how to use a front end client should be much easier.
