Integrate or areaXY

Hello everyone,

I am new in this forum, and I am also kind of ne with IGOR. So sorry for the basic question ...

I currently work with IGOR because I have to evaluate data from an ion trap mass spectrometer. Well, I plotted my data and now i need to calculate the concentration. I do not want to use the maximum of the peak, i rather do it by the area under the peak.
Well ... I tried the areaXY between the cursors function - and got a value. But it doens't seem correct to me (Maximum of peak is 3000 and 2500; areaXY is 23000). Should I rather use the integrate-function or do I just have a "knot" in my mind that I do not understand the calculated value?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

The width of your peaks are on the order of 5-10 seconds and the amplitude is on the order of 3000. Since they are approximately triangular, 3000*10/2 = the area of a triangle = 15000, your result seems reasonable.
