changing the automatic sizing of text

When creating labels for a plot it seems that when no /Z is used the size is automatically generated depending on the size of the graph window. This automatic sizing is on the small side for my liking, is there a way to keep it automatic sizing, but a size or two bigger?

These affect both text size and marker size.
