Where and How to Ask Questions?

Hi,
I don't know why but i never get answers for my question here. Can somebody help me to figure out where I should post my questions and how to ask in order to get answers for them?

I hope at least I get an answer for this one.

Thanks much

AFAICT (as far as I can tell) you are now batting 75%. The 25% miss was only posted 4 h ago. Give it some time. The world revolves only so far in 1/6 of a day, and half or more of it is asleep right now.

Post here or on the Igor mail list server.

Ask in a way that shows that you have done at least the basic homework. No one really likes reading the user's manual or help files directly back to someone.

You just did.

First, do the first half of the Igor guided tour. It explains how to use the Igor help system, Igor basics and terminology. With that under your belt you will be better equipped to answer your own questions. And when you do ask a question in this forum, it will be properly narrowed down and in terms that are familiar.

For example, if you are interested in polygons, search the Igor help for polygon and/or look in the Igor manual index for polygon. The guided tour explains how to do both of these.

Next, choose a title for your post that clearly and concisely describes the question.

Next, state concisely what you are trying to do and what you have tried thus far.

If applicable, include a snippet of Igor code that boils the question down to its essence so that forum readers don't have to wade through a lot of irrelevant details to get to the point of your question.

When posting an Igor code snippet, use the <igor> and </igor> tags as explained at http://www.igorexchange.com/node/25.

In some cases it is helpful to post an Igor experiment file so that forum readers can easily execute your code. If you do this, make sure to boil the experiment down to its essence so we don't have to wade through extraneous details and make sure to include instructions for running the test.
