Transparent box

Hi - I have created an Igor layout in which I have pasted a png picture. I would now like to superimpose a transparent colored box area and I seem to be unable to do that. Just to clarify, the box should be blue-ish, on top of the pasted figure, and it should allow me to still see the picture behind it. Is there an easy/quick way to do this?
