Rename problem

Any solution to my rename problem?
Operating system Windows 10
IgorPro 6.3.7.2

When startup IgorPro, simple entry of numbers in wave, right click on wave to rename, entry of new name, click do it....then IgorPro crashes with no renaming. Press menu new experiment and strange graphical empty table (no cells) come up and IgorPro is non functional.
Tried reinstall but error is still present.

I assume you use

Enter some numbers, right-click on the wave and choose "Rename Wave".
What is the new name of the wave?
Does
Rename wave0,test;

work from the command line (CTRL-J -- and "test" replaced with your intended name)?

"Crash" means that the program has executed an illegal instruction or accessed non-existent memory and must quit. It sounds more like you mean that Igor does not rename the wave ("with no renaming"). This reminds me of this problem caused by Nvidia Desktop Manager.
